Joel Podolny Speaks at Higher Education Summit

Our CEO Joel Podolny was honored to speak at the 14th edition of “Reinventing Higher Education,” joined by over 200 University presidents, vice-chancellors, and leaders in higher education from 25 countries. A couple highlights:

Joel spoke about the importance of UX principles such as mobile-first design to advance the goals of greater accessibility in higher education that President Santiago Íñiguez of IE University emphasized in his opening remarks.

Later the group reflected upon the powerful words of University of Miami President Julio Frenk, who noted the important role of universities as conveners, bringing people with different perspectives and experiences together to productively engage around complex issues. Joel discussed how new innovations in technology like AI can and should be used in ways that help universities deliver on this role and responsibility —  by providing assistance, guidance, and feedback to individuals on how to productively engage with those who have different backgrounds and perspectives. Joel added, “and in this changing world — where people seem drawn further and further apart — this is going to require deliberate attention and more generally the collaborative efforts of all of us.”

Thanks to all attendees for the boundless inspiration… together we are reinventing education!
