The University of Miami’s Herbert School of Business set out to launch its online Executive MSA program with students at the forefront. Knowing their learners are busy working professionals, the school needed an experience that was flexible yet highly engaging and interactive. Just as importantly, they wanted students to receive the same quality education and authentic Miami experience as those learning on campus without relying on a third-party program manager.
The Miami team chose Honor as its learning platform for three powerful reasons. First, Honor’s beautiful, human-centered design elevated the University of Miami’s brand as an innovator and helped the Executive MSA stand out in a crowded executive education market. Just as important, the platform also made it easy to foster genuine human connection, giving students the benefits of peer-to-peer engagement even in an online environment. Finally, Honor gave instructors new freedom and flexibility. Instead of relying on an outside program manager for course development and content updates, faculty could now bring their own voice to the program and adapt material on the fly, essential for fast-moving topics like AI.
The Miami team was committed to maintaining full ownership of the program, yet they also recognized the need for upfront support in instructional design. By collaborating closely with Honor’s instructional design team, they were able to build a strong curriculum together and launch the program on schedule.
