Honor Education Secures $38M Series A To Reinvent Digital Learning Experiences

Funding fuels expansion of AI-driven platform to meet rising demand for credentialed programs, leadership development, and scalable learning across enterprise, higher education, and nonprofit sectors

SAN FRANCISCO – July 8, 2025Honor Education, the learning platform and solutions provider transforming how individuals and organizations build skills, mindsets, and cultures, today announced $38 million in Series A funding from Alpha Edison, Wasserstein & Co, Audeo Ventures, Interlock Partners, New Wave Capital, and other investors. The funding underscores growing market confidence in Honor’s unique approach to delivering transformative learning experiences in degreed, credentialed, and corporate leadership development programs, anchored by strong brands – from emerging innovators to iconic global institutions.

Founded by Joel Podolny, founding Dean of Apple University and former Dean of the Yale School of Management, Honor addresses a rapidly evolving world where individuals are living, learning, and transitioning between roles more frequently. Honor integrates breakthrough educational methodologies, personalized guidance, AI course enhancement, and mobile-first technology, empowering individual learners and organizational leaders to navigate change with confidence.

"Real learning is driven by human connection, relevance, and challenge," said Joel Podolny, CEO and founder of Honor Education. "With this funding, we will further scale our collective learning approach – partnering with powerful brands to create credentialed programs that learners proudly engage with, and equipping leaders to build cultures that accelerate organizational growth and alignment."

Honor initially gained traction in higher education, collaborating with leading institutions including The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Northeastern University, and the University of Miami Herbert School of Business. Now, the company is rapidly expanding across the enterprise, partnering with global innovators such as Netflix, Moderna, Pinterest, and Synopsys, as well as nonprofit organizations like the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Get Schooled, Propel, and AltFinance. Honor addresses the $1.2T global post secondary higher education, credentialed, and corporate learning markets, providing solutions that surpass the engagement and retention capabilities of traditional learning platforms and services.

“Honor Education is building an inspiring model for collaborative learning in higher education,” said Matthew Rascoff, Vice Provost for Digital Education at Stanford University. “Joel Podolny and his team are bringing modern consumer-level user experience and design — something typically absent in traditional ed tech — into the online learning space. Their innovative, asynchronous platform facilitates seminar-quality engagement through social annotation and thoughtful peer interaction, which holds enormous potential to transform how we teach, learn, and engage at scale.”

Honor has delivered over 700,000 learner sessions to date, achieving learner engagement three to five times daily – significantly higher than traditional platforms — and driving course completion rates averaging 85%, compared to an industry average of 15%. Recognized in TIME’s Best Inventions of 2024, Honor combines personalized guidance, connective AI, real-time analytics, and social interaction to provide transformative learning experiences at scale.

Honor’s credentialed learning experiences are designed to be both credible and customizable. The platform integrates seamlessly with Accredible, the leading digital credentialing provider, to issue verified certificates and badges, enabling partners like Propel, AltFinance, and ACHE to issue their own branded credentials, maintaining full control over branding, voice, and academic or professional standards.

“Honor's learning experience moves beyond static content, creating networks of practice where members engage, apply, and learn from one another,” said David Bartholomew, Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, SVP of Learning at ACHE. "Together, we’ve made learning social, relevant, and actionable to meet leaders where they are – empowering them to grow, adapt, and lead effectively in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape."

Honor will use the Series A funding to expand existing AI capabilities, enhance personalization capabilities, and grow its operations and customer success teams to support growing demand from enterprises, nonprofits, and educational institutions.
