Our favorite Sydney J Harris quote (“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.”) got a new spin when Joel expanded its meaning at Lynn University’s commencement speech by saying, “The whole purpose of our lives is to turn mirrors into windows.”
He challenges us to “then look out of that window with an intensity that asks What Else? Joel challenges the Class of 2023 and all of us to “be attentive to the emotional underpinnings of a curious mind.”
